Scientist II, Data Extraction

Summary

Join one of our growing Cross Functional Data Extraction teams as a Scientist II, Data Extraction! Reporting to the CFT Data Manager or Data Extraction CFT Lead, you will work with your team and the CFT Application teams to apply scientific research knowledge to identify solutions to real-world scientific problems.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in life sciences (e.g. Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, etc.)
• 3+ years of relevant bench experience
• Extensive knowledge and/or bench experience in experimental biology research techniques, including but not limited to: Pre-clinical studies, Drug discovery, Genetics, In vivo studies, Immunological studies, Functional assays, Microbiology
• Comfortable with open-ended tasks
• Interest in using/prompting LLMs to manipulate data and achieve the desired output
• Experience working with large data sets and working with data processing tools such as Excel, SQL and Python/R

Responsibilities

• Generate training set for ML modelling
• Help with the labelling of text and image data collected from publications
• QA data from ML models and data pipelines to identify deficiencies and to develop strategies to improve overall data collection alongside engineering
• Conduct ongoing research to improve data collection for existing and new applications
• Develop new ways to apply our ML technology to design experiments, surface scientific insights and improve our value offering to customers
• Keep up with current biomedical research to guide technology development
