Join Miaplaza, a rapidly growing online learning platform, as a Secondary ELA Curriculum Developer! You will design and develop engaging English Language Arts content for grades 6-12, ensuring it's pedagogically sound and accessible. Collaborate with a team of experts, utilizing technology like Google Suite. This is a 30-40 hour per week, year-round position offering flexibility in scheduling. Requirements include at least two years of ELA teaching experience and one year of curriculum development experience at the secondary level, along with a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time ELA teaching experience at the 6th-12th grade level
- A minimum of 1 year developing ELA curriculum or lesson materials at the 6th-12th grade level (this can include materials that you use in your own classroom!)
- A Bachelorโs degree or higher in Education or a related field
- Knowledge of the structure of an effective lesson
- Familiarity with writing lesson objectives and aligning material to meet objectives
- Ability to differentiate instruction to make learning accessible, engaging, and age-appropriate
- Strong understanding of what makes a lesson engaging
- Experience using technology to support instruction, including Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially written
- Growth mindset and motivated by constructive feedback
- Proven ability to work independently, manage schedules, and meet deadlines
- High motivation, a proactive attitude, and a tendency to seek opportunities for continuous improvement
- High standards of integrity and transparency
- Access to a computer/laptop (with camera) and reliable high-speed internet connection
Responsibilities
- Design and develop educational English Language Arts content for students in grades 6-12
- Ensure content is pedagogically sound, engaging, age-appropriate, and accessible for students
- Write clear and measurable lesson objectives, and align teaching materials to meet objectives
- Use technology, such as Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
- Continuously evaluate and refine content based on feedback and educational outcomes
- Collaborate on special projects and assignments
Preferred Qualifications
- You have an active teaching certification and/or you have completed professional development or training in curriculum design and pedagogy
- You have training or experience in instructional design
- You have hands-on experience designing and writing curriculum at the school or district level or for an e-learning platform, including writing scripts for video lessons
- You have experience analyzing and transforming data into actionable goals that have positively impacted your students
- You have experience with screencasting software or online instruction
