Summary

Join 66degrees as a Senior Security Architecture Engineer for a 6-month remote contract with the potential for permanent conversion. You will play a crucial role in integrating security into the software development lifecycle of our client's team. Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining security controls across applications and infrastructure. You will automate security testing, perform threat modeling, and manage vulnerabilities. The role requires strong security engineering experience, familiarity with DevOps tools and cloud security, and excellent communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, and relevant security certifications are preferred.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in security engineering or DevSecOps
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks (NIST, CIS, OWASP Top 10)
  • Experience with DevOps tools, security testing, and cloud infrastructure security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Experience with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Knowledge of securing microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Cloud security expertise, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Integrate security solutions into DevOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Automate security testing (SAST, DAST, IAST) and enforce security-as-code principles
  • Review and advise on secure architectural patterns for applications and infrastructure
  • Perform threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews
  • Implement and maintain security automation tools
  • Manage vulnerabilities and incidents, collaborating with development and operations teams
  • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions to educate developers and operations staff on secure coding practices, security testing, and DevSecOps principles
  • Continuously assess and improve security processes and tools

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CKS, etc.)
