Summary

The job is for a Security Engineer at Edpuzzle's Security and Infrastructure Team in Spain. Requirements

  • 3 or more years of experience in security engineering, network security, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Expertise in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard network infrastructure
  • Ability to conduct ethical hacking exercises to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications
  • Familiarity with at least one major security framework like NIST, ISO 27001, SOC2 or privacy compliance standards like GDPR
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and tools in environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience in securing web applications by identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities like SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF
  • You are based in Spain. and have a work permit to work in Spain

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security measures for systems, networks, and web applications
  • Oversee threat identification and guide security incident response planning
  • Lead security evaluations, vulnerability assessments, and penetration tests
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with industry regulations
  • Partner with Engineering teams for secure feature development and system integration
  • Understand product functionalities to enhance security
  • Stay up to date on emerging security technologies and trends
  • Assist in developing and delivering security training to employees
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities
  • Evaluate third-party security risks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in programming languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js to automate tasks, analyze data, develop security tools or contribute to the product’s codebase
  • Experience with DLP technologies to identify and secure sensitive data
  • Deep understanding of encryption algorithms and secure data transmission techniques
