Summary
Join Everbridge's Cyber Intelligence Centre/Security Operations team as a Security Engineer and contribute to a forward-thinking approach to security. This remote position, open to candidates in Hungary, focuses on enhancing security operations and incident response. You will manage daily operations of security technologies, analyze and respond to security incidents, and collaborate with the Information Services team. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing automated security processes, developing automated playbooks, and continuously improving automation. You will also create dashboards and reports, maintain security automation tools, and collaborate with various teams.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Cybersecurity (operation, Incident Response, or Threat Intelligence)
- Proven experience with security automation tools, CI/CD, Terraform, SIEM platforms (e.g., MS Sentinel)
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, firewalls, and vulnerability management tools
- Expertise in implementing and managing security automation processes and systems
- Writes code, very much hands on with coding experience and abilities with languages such as, Python, Go, NodeJS
- Builds tools and integrations, APIβs, connectors, that solve key security automation problems
- Experience with version control and CI/CD pipeline ( gitlab, GitHub)
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native security tools
- Experience in building and maintaining automated incident response playbooks
- Proficiency in security monitoring tools such as SIEM, EDR, NDR, and IDS/IPS
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations of cutting-edge security technologies
- Analyze and respond to security incidents with agility and precision
- Collaborate with our Information Services team to continuously strengthen our security posture and protect valuable data assets
- Design, implement, and manage automated security processes for cloud infrastructure, applications, and data, integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Bash
- Develop automated playbooks and alert triage systems to streamline response to security incidents and reduce human error
- Identify and address automation gaps to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security coverage
- Work with SOC, IT, DevOps, and Engineering teams to integrate and align security automation with organizational policies and standards
- Create dashboards and reports to optimize security performance metrics and ensure process effectiveness
- Maintain and evaluate security automation tools to ensure peak performance and introduce new technologies as needed
