Summary

The Security Engineer position is a remote role offered by Secur-Serv, a division of Scantron Corporation. The role involves providing managed security services to clients, conducting risk assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and security audits, leading project management related to security initiatives, providing customer and internal team training on security topics, assisting with security-related monitoring, incident response, and remediation, and traveling 25% domestically. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, at least 3 years of experience in an Information Security role, and one or more of the specified certifications. Preferred skills include experience working with financial institutions and applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field
  • One or more of the following certifications or related training: Security+, CISA/CISM, CEH/CNDA, LPT, or CISSP
  • Minimum 3 years in an Information Security role
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing
  • Experience with PCI, HIPPA, FISMA, RMF, SOC 2 and other compliance programs
  • Advanced knowledge of network systems and server operating systems
  • Advanced knowledge of security principals, security testing tools, backup/recovery tools and vulnerability/monitoring tools
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer focused, team and goal oriented

Responsibilities

  • Provide managed security services to clients including assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring and audit activities
  • Lead and/or assist with security response, analysis and remediation efforts in collaboration with client and internal IT teams
  • Work with client IT teams to conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, penetration tests and security audits
  • Provide customer and internal team training on security topics, procedures, tools and policies
  • Assist managed service teams with security related monitoring, incident response and remediation
