Summary

Join our game development team as a Senior 2D Character Animator! You will create high-quality 2D character animations using Spine, bringing our game's characters to life. Collaboration with art and design teams is key to ensuring animations align with the game's artistic vision and gameplay. This role requires extensive experience in 2D animation for mobile game production and expertise in Spine. You will also mentor junior animators and contribute to improving animation workflows. This is a remote position requiring excellent time management and collaboration skills.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in 2D animation for mobile game production
• Expertise in Spine animation software, including rigging, skeletal animation, and motion editing
• Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and character movement
• Ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (art, design, etc.) to ensure seamless animation execution
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Create smooth and high-quality 2D character animations using Spine, ensuring they align with the artistic vision and gameplay mechanics
• Collaborate with the art and design teams to ensure animations support the visual storytelling and character performance
• Ensure animation consistency across characters, scenes, and assets
• Troubleshoot and refine animations to improve quality and performance
• Contribute to the improvement of animation workflows and best practices within the team
• Mentor and guide junior animators, helping them develop their skills and maintain high-quality standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Traditional animation skills (drawing, understanding of squash/stretch, timing)
• Familiarity with additional 2D animation tools like Adobe Animate or Toon Boom
