Senior Algorithm Researcher

Summary

Join D-Wave as a Senior Algorithm Researcher to develop complex algorithms and heuristics for large-scale combinatorial optimization problems. As part of the Algorithms, Performance, and Tools (APT) team, you'll partner with internal scientists and engineers to bring useful quantum accelerated optimization services to market.

Requirements

• Graduate degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience in developing solvers in at least one of these fields: Constraint Based Local Search, Constraint Programming, Mixed Integer Programming, Routing / Scheduling engines, SAT solvers
• Over 3 years experience with C++ and Python
• Strong organizational and decision-making skills
• Excellent technical communication skills
• Experience in combinatorial algorithms and discrete optimization; experience with Gurobi, SCIP, CPLEX, Hexaly, OR-Tools, or similar
• Up-to-date understanding of the latest approaches in heuristic and complete methods for discrete optimization

Responsibilities

• Develop new features, algorithm improvements and bug fixes in DWave optimization solvers
• Contribute to the D Wave open-source optimization modelling framework (https://github.com/dwavesystems/dwave-optimization)
• Partner with our professional services team to develop customer applications and solver improvements
• Conduct research on novel hybrid quantum classical algorithms and maintain an up-to-date knowledge on optimization literature
