Senior Analytics Engineer

Summary

Join M-KOPA's Analytics Department as a Senior Analytics Engineer and contribute to our mission of driving digital and financial inclusion. You will own analytics datasets and pipelines for a specific product domain, collaborating with cross-functional partners to enhance our understanding. This role involves building user-friendly datasets for metrics, dashboards, and analysis, developing data transformation pipelines using SQL and Python, and defining key metrics. You will also create semantic models, build dashboards, coach users on self-serve capabilities, and collaborate with software engineers. Requirements

• Extensive proficiency with SQL and Python
• Experience working with orchestration systems such as Airflow and dbt

Responsibilities

• Own analytics datasets and pipelines for a specific product domain
• Work with cross-functional partners to improve understanding of the product area
• Build easy-to-understand and consistently modeled datasets to serve metrics, dashboards, and exploratory analysis
• Build data transformation pipelines using SQL and Python in dbt + Airflow infrastructure
• Define key metrics for the product area
• Develop semantic models
• Build dashboards
• Coach users on how to use self-serve capabilities of the platform
• Work with software engineers to ensure data necessary for analysis is captured well in systems
• Apply best practices to build reliable, well-tested, efficient, and documented data assets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with data warehouse technologies
• Experience with BI tools such as Looker or Tableau
• Experience with dimensional data modeling for analytics/big data infrastructures
