Senior Android Engineer

Summary

Join Lyft's Android team as an enthusiastic app developer and contribute to apps used by millions. We maintain excellent development practices, careful code architecture, and a rapid release organization. The team utilizes agile methodologies including backlog grooming, planning meetings, daily stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives. Continuous integration with automated testing enables a bi-weekly release train. We prioritize delightful user experiences, balancing new features, code refactoring, and analytics-driven tweaks. Every aspect of development undergoes rigorous review and testing. This fully remote position is based in Ukraine.

Requirements

• 5+ years of mobile software engineering experience
• Experience using design and architecture patterns
• Understand unit testing
• Knowledge of Java, Kotlin or NET
• Good sense of usability and product
• Generalist engineer experience. Experience building web services, accessing data storages
• Experience pursuing side projects or open source projects
• Shipped Android apps, available on Google Play

Responsibilities

• Provide technical mentorship and feedback to junior engineers
• Help establish roadmap and architecture based on technology and our needs
• Work within our product teams to build exciting features
• Implement pixel perfect designs with advanced animations
• Extend and implement our APIs
• Implement unit and UI automation tests
