Senior Android Engineer

Summary

Join Platform Science as a Senior Android Engineer and contribute to our core Android framework that powers our connected vehicle platform. You will build and maintain platform applications using Kotlin/Java, leverage technologies like Room, MVVM, and Kotlin Coroutines, and write comprehensive tests. This role requires 5+ years of Android development experience, expertise in building enterprise mobile SDKs, and a strong technical foundation. Requirements

• 5+ years experience in Android development
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise mobile SDKs
• Experience with Bluetooth and/or wifi connectivity to hardware devices
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD
• Solid portfolio of experience building mobile applications
• Good technical foundation with ability to pick up new skills and adapt quickly
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform applications written in Kotlin/Java
• Utilize Room or SQLite DBs
• Utilize MVVM Design Patterns
• Utilize Dependency Injection
• Utilize Flows and Coroutines
• Write unit tests, integration tests, and e2e tests for Android apps
• Perform code reviews for team members’ code
• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems
• Learn new technologies while supporting existing ones
• Commit to software craftsmanship and things like unit testing, code review, design patterns, etc

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Android MDM / MAM Solutions
• Experience with Agile/Scrum Methodologies
• Experience with System Architecture Design
