Sr. Application Consultant - Optimization Model

Job location: Chennai, India.

About the team

As a member of the consulting team within Kinaxis’s Professional Services, Innovation and Data Science Services organization, Your advanced expertise in operations research and optimization models will contribute to delivering end-to-end customer projects related to innovative applications, such as optimization models within Kinaxis’ RapidResponse product, in close collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

What you will do

Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer business requirements discovery sessions and help develop requirements and technical specifications documentation.
  • Understand customer’s supply-planning needs related to Supply Chain optimization use cases (inventory, waste management, raw material, production systems) and manage customer-facing discussions.
  • Use mathematical optimization (Linear programming, optimization algorithms, statistics, machine learning) to solve complex business problems, reduce costs and improve decision-making speed and quality for our customers.
  • Support data management and data integration related activities as required.
  • Support workflow and process optimization by advising and guiding customers and/or internal teams on best approach for gathering inputs, analyzing results and adjusting optimization parameters to meet customers’ business needs.
  • Manage the validation and testing of the models’ performance and capture user feedback while making the required adjustments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Product Management or R&D to implement and enhance optimization application at customers.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate optimization results and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Act as a main point of contact for customers throughout the implementation, effectively articulating complex information in a relatable fashion and at times, managing challenging conversations.

Technologies we use

  • Proficiency in MatLab, Python, SQL, Mixed Integer Linear Programming and decision models.
  • Experience in Optimization Solvers
  • Prior experience in RapidResponse, JDA or SAP a strong asset.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in one of the following fields: Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience of consulting, implementing optimization models in client production environments.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning or Management.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication (both in written and in oral formats), facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Interest for new technologies and fast learner.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
