Senior Application Engineer

Summary

Join Wolt's Merchant Business Systems & Compliance team as a Salesforce expert to lead the transformation of the merchant journey. You will build a cutting-edge CRM platform, enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring scalability and reliability. This role involves leading development and deployment of innovative applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving technical architecture decisions. You'll mentor junior team members and contribute to the team's professional growth while working with modern technologies like Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, and React. The position offers flexibility with remote work options and is based in Finland or Germany. Wolt fosters a culture of ownership, autonomy, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• A problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering with a proven track record of delivering scalable, distributed systems
• Strong expertise in Salesforce (or equivalent CRM platform), with hands-on experience in Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Marketing Cloud implementations
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js
• Strong experience with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
• Experience in designing and delivering systems with a strong compliance focus
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks like React
• Deep understanding of database design, performance optimization, and system integration
• Strong analytical skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of innovative applications that solve critical business problems
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver impactful solutions
• Drive technical architecture decisions, ensuring robustness, scalability, and performance
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the professional growth of the engineering team
• Identify and implement best practices in software development and system design
• Design, develop, and customize applications within the Salesforce platform, including Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce Pages, Triggers, Workflows, and Approval Processes
• Stay current with the latest Salesforce features, tools, and best practices to continuously improve the platform and your contributions

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with third-party integrations and automation tools, such as Salesforce or Mulesoft
