Senior Application Security Engineer

Summary

Join Coalition as a Senior Application Security Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping the company's product and engineering culture by embedding security throughout its technology. You will be responsible for performing technical security assessments, developing internal application security solutions, mentoring engineers, and implementing automated security measures. This role requires 5+ years of experience in application security, a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, and excellent communication skills. You will work closely with the engineering team on exciting projects involving AI and other new technologies, gaining broad experience through operational responsibilities such as bug bounty and incident response. Requirements

• At least 5+ years of direct experience either working on or guiding an application security team
• Good understanding of computer science fundamentals and at least one programming language (preferably Python or Go)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated examples of influencing others
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle ambiguity

Responsibilities

• Perform technical security assessments, code and design reviews
• Develop internal application security solutions including CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor and train engineers to build secure products
• Implement automated, proactive security measures (e.g., SAST/DAST/Frameworks)
• Help run offensive pen-testing operations
