Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer

Summary

Join Vanta as a Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer and play a crucial role in shaping Vanta’s AI offerings. You will improve the performance of our AI systems and set technical strategy for our end-to-end ML/AI architecture. You’ll be part of the core AI team building and shipping AI applications to revolutionize security and compliance programs. Requirements

• Be a strong coder
• Have experience building ML systems from ground up, shipping ML solutions to production, and owning the full ML development lifecycle
• Possess expertise in building, deploying and maintaining LLM-based applications in productions: embeddings, RAG, Agent, prompt engineering, and fine tuning
• Have a strong understanding of data preprocessing, feature engineering, model evaluation techniques, and quality hill-climbing
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and evaluate AI/ML solutions from both a platform and a product perspective
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize findings from data and improve performance of AI systems through training, fine-tuning, and RLHF
• Partner with product teams to define product strategies and drive directions for Vanta’s AI offerings
• Work with other engineers to architect and implement a scalable ML infrastructure, including data pipeline, monitoring, and LLM-specific pipelines (LLM-Ops)
• Research and apply state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning to improve model performance, and convert research output into best practice, production-grade software
