Senior Automotive Designer/Digital Designer/3D Model Designer

Summary

The Automotive Designer is responsible for designing the appearance, components, and ergonomics of automobiles and other road vehicles. They create sketches, use CAD software to create three-dimensional mockups, and work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. The designer should have at least 5 years of experience in a design studio, 3 years of 3D Art experience, a strong portfolio, good understanding of industry software, and a bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial design or related fields.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a design studio
• 3+ years of 3D Art experience
• A healthy portfolio of completed works and personal projects
• Good understanding of industry software such as Maya and V-ray
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial design, Transportation design, or other relevant design areas

Responsibilities

• Design the appearance, components, and ergonomics of automobiles and other road vehicles
• Create sketches, including interior and exterior design and colour scheme
• Develop new body style designs or alter automobile designs to conform to current safety standards and government emissions regulations
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create three-dimensional mockups
• Create layouts and clearance studies of folding and removable seat assemblies

Preferred Qualifications

Strong interest and/or knowledge of Artificial intelligence software/trends, V.R. sketching/modeling
