Senior Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer

Summary

Join our client's team as a Senior Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Engineer on a contract-to-hire basis. This remote position, preferably located in the Central Time Zone, requires deep expertise in AVD and global platform rollout experience. Familiarity with Azure Local and Nerdio is a plus. The role involves leading global AVD deployments, designing and supporting AVD infrastructure, collaborating with DaaS teams, troubleshooting AVD environments, integrating AVD with other Azure services, and providing expertise on Azure Local deployments. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills and excellent communication abilities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior AVD Engineer with hands-on expertise in designing and deploying Azure Virtual Desktop solutions
• Experience with global AVD deployments and scaling across multiple regions
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience managing complex AVD environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

• Lead the global rollout and deployment of Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments across multiple regions
• Design, implement, and support AVD infrastructure to meet organisational needs
• Collaborate with core DaaS (Desktop as a Service) teams primarily based in the Central Time Zone (Chicago)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AVD environments to ensure a seamless user experience
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AVD solutions with other Azure services
• Provide expertise on Azure Local deployments to optimise performance and compliance
• Utilise Nerdio management tools to streamline AVD provisioning and management (preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Azure Local is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Nerdio platform for managing AVD environments is preferred
