Summary

Jubilee is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with 5+ years of experience in Node.js and AWS to join their team for the development of a new mobile dating app. The employee will collaborate with other engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using AWS and Node.js.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Backend Developer with proficiency in Node.js and AWS
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and microservices
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redis)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (e.g., AWS, Docker)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using AWS and Node.js
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with scalable APIs
• Implement APIs and optimize performance for high-volume mobile applications
• Participate in architectural and design discussions, influence the technical direction of the project
• Ensure code quality, testability, and maintainability by writing clean, efficient, and tested code
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire stack, from network and database to API and application code
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in backend development and apply them to the project

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code in AWS
• Knowledge of GraphQL and other modern API technologies
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in developer communities
