Senior Backend Developer Python, Remote - France

Summary

The job is for a senior developer position at Kraken Technologies, a company within Octopus Energy Group. The position is full remote and requires experience in Python, Django, Fluent French, domain modelling, HTTP and REST APIs, writing robust software, Celery, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul, React, Redux, and more.

Requirements

• General interest in technology and problem-solving
• Diligence and thoughtfulness
• Experience/expertise in Python (minimum 7 y.e.)
• Experience/expertise in Django or equivalent web framework
• Fluent in French, and lever B2 at least in English
• Domain modelling experience
• Experience with HTTP and REST APIs
• Experience in writing robust and fault-tolerant software
• Experience with Celery and async processing
• Postgres experience

Responsibilities

• Solve difficult design challenges in the French energy market
• Solve difficult technical problems, including handling millions of meter readings a day and feeding data into a machine learning pipeline that models and predicts consumption

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS experience
• Terraform, Packer, Consul experience
• React and Redux experience
