Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join our MPayment team at SCAYLE as a Senior Backend Engineer, contributing to our industry-leading eCommerce infrastructure. Based in Hamburg or remotely within the EU, you will play a key role in integrating various payment service providers (PSPs) into our ecosystem. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable software architecture using PHP and AWS. This role requires hands-on experience with Laravel or Symfony, API development, and AWS technologies. Requirements

• Hands-on & recent experience with Laravel or Symfony
• Hands-on experience developing synchronous APIs
• Experience working with AWS, TF, MySQL, Redis, or equivalent
• Self-motivated, responsible, passionate, and eager to learn
• Ability to perform complex technical tasks independently with minimal guidance
• Ability to be a multiplier of team efforts, ensuring teamwork results are as expected and technically sound

Responsibilities

• Translate business problems into technical problems and work with the team to ensure proper design, planning, and delivery
• Help envision and develop a scalable software architecture for our API written in PHP
• Embrace modern agile software development methodologies and extreme programming practices such as TDD and pair programming
• Utilize the right tools for the right tasks without being dogmatic about the tech stack
• Take ownership of what you build end-to-end, including automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with high volume, high load environments
• Experience working with multiple downstream and upstream dependencies
• Experience with PSP integration
• Experience designing and testing complex integrations
• Experience working with multi-tenant SaaS solutions
