Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer at Deel, a global company that helps businesses hire talent across the world. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, expertise in Node.js and other server-side languages, proficiency in JavaScript syntax, knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, and familiarity with AWS services.

Requirements

• You have at least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer
• You have expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language
• You’re an expert in JavaScript syntax
• You’re a database guru! You know the ins and outs of SQL and NoSQL, mainly PostgreSQL and ORM libraries (such as Sequelize)
• You have a firm understanding of AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS and SQS

Responsibilities

• Be a part of a truly cross-functional team
• Participate in product planning (From discovery all the way to deployment)
• Collaborate with other teams to develop new features, API’s, and improve products
• Ensure customers receive a white-glove experience with our products

Preferred Qualifications

• If you’ve worked with SaaS products running 24/7 on a major cloud vendor, it would be beneficial
• Experience with serverless app architecture on AWS is preferred
• If you have experience with TypeScript, it would be beneficial
• Experience working in distributed teams and thriving in a remote work environment is preferred
