Senior Backend Engineer

Requirements

• Experience: At least 6 years of software development experience, with a proven track record in building commercial applications using modern software engineering practices
• Efficiency: Demonstrated ability to complete tasks quickly and effectively at a production level
• Project Ownership: Experience in managing and taking ownership of large project deliverables, both collaboratively and independently
• Complexity Reduction: Skill in simplifying complex projects, services, and processes to achieve more with less effort
• Development Lifecycle: Proven influence throughout the software development life cycle, including experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevSecOps practices
• C# Expertise: Deep knowledge of C# and best practices for building enterprise cloud-native applications
• Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, with a preference for AWS

Responsibilities

• Architect and Design: Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of high-quality backend code by adhering to and promoting best practices
• Problem Solving: Tackle complex problems with creative and timely solutions, ensuring robust and effective outcomes
• Technical Expertise: Act as the subject matter expert in backend development, with a deep understanding of C# and the broader system architecture
• System Influence: Play a key role in resolving, diagnosing, and monitoring systems and platforms, influencing technical direction and strategy
• Innovation: Identify and address critical issues affecting the team, implementing innovative technical solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency
• Feature Development: Guide the design and implementation of features, collaborating with the team to deliver scalable, high-availability, and high-performance products
• Special Projects: Contribute to special projects and undertake additional duties as required to support organizational goals

Preferred Qualifications

• CI/CD: Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment processes
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools and practices
• Apache Spark: Knowledge of Apache Spark is a plus
