Summary

Join Mercedes-Benz.io as a software developer in the OneWeb Team, creating state-of-the-art software for customer experiences on web and app channels. You will be responsible for micro-services based web applications in Kotlin/Java, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and living DevOps principles.

Requirements

  • A BSc or MsC degree in a computer related field
  • 5+ yearsΒ of professional experience in backend development with Kotlin or Java
  • To write multi-threaded, high-volume transactional code as well as having experience in developing large scale websites
  • Deep knowledge and experience in Spring, Spring Webflux / MVC, Spring Cloud, Design patterns, simple design and RESTful Services
  • Experience with source control management (Git), as well as with build tools like Maven and Gradle
  • Experience with tools like JUnit or Mockito complements your development expertise
  • To understand complex business-logical challenges and finding simplicity-seeking solutions
  • To be open to new technologies and modern software development methodologies
  • Knowledge about CI/CD and build & deploy automation
  • Comfortable with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • To be constantly looking for new learnings
  • To have a way of working that is characterized by team spirit, excellent communication skills in English and high quality standards set to yourself for the artifacts produced

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the creation and further development of state-of-the-art software that supports Mercedes-Benz business
  • Create and maintain micro-services based web applications in Kotlin / Java
  • Collaborate in a cross-functional team and other teams on backend related topics
  • Live and breath DevOps principles to create, test and deploy backend solutions
  • Discuss problems and achieve solutions in pragmatic ways
  • Support the design of software and system architectures in the creation of technical specifications based on known and proven software design patterns
