Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Back-End Engineer at PatientIQ, a fast-growing health tech company in Chicago backed by top-tier venture capital. The role involves revamping existing software and building future software using modern technologies like Ruby on Rails, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS Lambda. The engineer will work with product managers and designers to build new features, perform peer code reviews, support a critical production environment, and contribute to projects such as PatientIQ Network, Analytics Autopilot, Patient Engagement, and 3rd Party Integrations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience building web applications
• Ability to write clean, well-designed, and scalable code
• First-hand professional experience with Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of databases and backend experience

Responsibilities

• Work with product managers and designers to build and realize new product features
• Active development with proper test coverage
• Perform peer code reviews to ensure the team is producing well tested and maintainable code
• Support and optimize a critical production environment
