Senior Backend Engineer (Java)

Requirements

• You are comfortable coding in Java at a Senior level with 5+ years of experience
• You have commercial experience developing complex, scalable and data-heavy applications
• You have exposure to broadcast ordering API integration patterns
• You know email deliverability principles and protocols
• You have strong Computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy solutions and hands-on software development
• Work collaboratively and coordinate with leads, product managers, and engineers across teams at Canva to unblock back-end works that help your group launch new integrations with privacy in mind
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and optimally advocate for engineering needs to non-technical team members within the group. Ensuring engineering quality and mentoring engineers in the team
• Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals, and improving processes and solutions
• Find opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new insights and improvements that help achieve our goals
