Senior Backend Java Developer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior Backend Java Engineer in Costa Rica and work remotely. You will design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions for supply chain and warehouse management systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This role requires extensive Java and Spring Boot experience, along with expertise in various technologies and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. The ideal candidate will have experience with messaging technologies, RESTful architecture, and cloud technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• +7 years of experience
• Excellent proficiency in Java and Spring boot framework
• Experience with messaging technologies and streaming platforms (Kafka)
• Experience with RESTful architecture and micro services
• Must know modern infrastructure tools and pipelines (GitLab, CI/CD, Terraform)
• Test automation experience at all levels (Unit, Integration, Regression and Performance/Load)
• Familiar with logging and metrics tools (New Relic, Splunk)
• Proficiency with Cloud technologies (AWS, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

• Develop software systems supporting Supply Chain services and warehouse management systems
• Participate in design, architecture and implementation of software systems solving complex problems. Includes defining, scoping and estimating stories and work artifacts
• Ensure delivery of high quality, scalable, maintainable and well tested code
• Provide on-call support for systems the team owns

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP is a plus
• Should be able to articulate and architect a well-designed system
• Familiarity with relational databases is a plus
• Supply Chain experience is a plus
• Understanding of modern warehouse management systems is a bonus
