Senior Backend Java/Kotlin Engineer

The ideal candidate possesses at least 5 years of backend experience (3 in Java/Kotlin), expertise in microservices architecture, cloud products, and relational/non-relational databases. Alfreð provides 30 days of paid vacation and will reimburse the cost of your equipment (Macbook preferred). The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience as a Back-End engineer, with 3 years in Java/Kotlin
• Proven track record in designing IaC services and systems involving multiple microservices
• Experience in implementing and suggesting new solutions in the field of architecture
• Experience in building cloud products (GCP preferred) and testing (TDD)
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, Firebase etc.)
• Experience with distributed systems
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Familiarize yourself with processes, code, and architecture
• Take responsibility for Alfreð brand products, including creating new features and maintaining existing ones
• Improve existing solutions to enhance scalability
• Test and focus on quality code
• Configure and monitor deployments, suggesting and implementing improvements to the setup
