Senior Back-End Programmer

Summary

SmartBug Media is seeking a proactive, curious, and passionate Senior Back-End Programmer with at least 8 years of experience in backend web development and advanced mastery of Wordpress CMS. The role involves developing effective solutions using Wordpress, collaborating with the team, ensuring site performance, and creating training tools.

Requirements

• Diploma in computer science, programming component or any other relevant training
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in backend web development
• Advanced mastery of the CMS Wordpress (plugin functionality design, use of ACF Block)
• Proficiency in Git for code versioning
• In-depth knowledge of advanced PHP concepts
• Experience in database design and management

Responsibilities

• Analyze functional and technical needs to develop effective solutions with the Wordpress CMS
• Plan, conceptualize and program sites in Wordpress
• Adhere to back-end department development standards, including time estimation
• Collaborate with the development team to design, implement and maintain backend features
• Participate in team meetings as well as scrum to strengthen team cohesion and alignment
• Ensure the performance, security and scalability of sites using Wordpress
• Contribute to continuous product improvement by implementing the latest Wordpress features and best practices
• Work closely with frontend teams to ensure smooth integration
• Carry out quality checks
• Create training tools and technical documents

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the Twig templating language preferred
