Senior Backend Software Engineer

Summary

Join Airbnb's Real Estate team and significantly impact various products and users. Design, build, and launch APIs and integrations with internal and external partners. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. Provide input on team roadmaps and technical direction. Mentor less-experienced team members. This US-remote eligible position requires a BS or MS in computer science or equivalent experience, 5+ years of software development experience, and expertise in backend languages and storage systems. Requirements

• BS or MS in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of relevant hands-on software development experience
• Experience working with one or more backend server languages (Java, Kotlin preferred), and expertise in popular storage systems such as relational databases, noSQL and caching
• Strong coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications
• Experience architecting, building, and maintaining highly available services in a service-oriented architecture (SOA)
• Familiarity with patterns, libraries and frameworks for building and testing services, and service-to-service communication
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within and across teams and functions at Airbnb
