Join Wellhub's Payments team in Brazil as a Senior Backend Software Engineer and contribute to a platform processing millions of transactions globally. You will research and execute strategic projects, impacting B2B and B2C checkout conversion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and payment service providers to optimize checkout rates and account management. Develop leadership skills by mentoring junior engineers and contribute to scalability, architecture, and code quality. Requirements

  • Focus on making things right and better at every opportunity
  • Solid experience with RESTful APIs written in Java/Kotlin + Spring (main stack)
  • Asynchronous processing and data pipelines
  • Software Architecture knowledge
  • Event-driven architectures
  • Knowledge of Serverless
  • Software quality and test automation mindset
  • Cloud computing (AWS) and Cloud Native (K8s) experience
  • Experience with SQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or any other relational database
  • Experience with microservices and high-volume distributed systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
  • You can present your work in a meeting setting in English or Portuguese

Responsibilities

  • Research and execute strategic projects along with your team
  • Your deliverables influence B2B and B2C checkout conversion around the globe, by both creating new payment mechanisms and improving/maintaining existing ones
  • Together with the technical leadership, you will implement and deliver solutions working with a cross-functional team
  • You will have the opportunity to develop leadership skills,  working closely with mid-level and junior engineers, and help them speed up their learning curve. You will also have opportunities to develop engineering skills by getting involved in scalability problems, system architecture, and code quality assurance, among others
  • Participate in the development of some of the most critical and challenging services in our ecosystem, seeking to build long-term and sustainable solutions
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience
  • Build Integration with 3rd party API and tools
  • Work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scale

Preferred Qualifications

Having worked in the e-commerce/financial services and PCI/DSS compliant environments is a plus
