Senior Backend Software Engineer

Summary

Join Headway's engineering team and help build a new mental healthcare system accessible to everyone. We're a Series D company using technology to connect patients with therapists who accept insurance. Our engineering team is small but impactful, focusing on building products that empower patients and therapists. We value a mission-driven approach, rapid iteration, and a culture of trust and learning. We use Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, React, and AWS, among other tools. We're tackling challenges in financial processing, claims management, internal tooling, therapist practice management, and patient search.

Requirements

• Have experience working on systems that power businesses and support modern web applications
• Possess a strong understanding of at least one programming language and be comfortable with others

• Design software architecture at the systems-level
• Lead the shaping of technical requirements, roadmaps, and strategy
