Senior Backend Software Engineer

Summary

Join Pigment, a rapidly growing SaaS company, as a Backend Software Engineer. You will contribute to the design and optimization of our core formula and query engine, tackling scalability and performance challenges with real-time, high-volume datasets. Collaborate with frontend engineers and product managers to deliver impactful features using .NET Core, PostgreSQL, and GCP. This role requires experience in software engineering on production systems and proficiency in object-oriented programming. Requirements

• Experience working as a software engineer on production systems
• Proven ability to design object-oriented software with languages such as C#, Java, C++, Golang, Rust, Python, or Ruby
• A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
• A desire to deeply understand how the product works and the value it brings to users
• A good dose of humility and the willingness to grow (no matter your seniority!)
• A fluent level in English (French is not required)

Responsibilities

• Design and build the core computation engine that powers our business planning platform
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to define, develop, and deliver features that bring value to users
• Optimize performance and scalability of systems processing large-scale data in real time
• Continuously monitor and improve the reliability, maintainability, and test coverage of backend services
• Contribute to technical architecture and decision-making across the backend stack
• Champion clean code, great documentation, and modern engineering best practices
