Summary

Join City Electrical Factors (CEF) as a Senior Business Analyst and contribute to the transformation of our customer payment experience. This high-impact role involves working on a large-scale program to replace legacy systems with new payment systems. You will own and drive analysis across a technical payments project, collaborating with cross-functional teams to elicit and refine requirements. Responsibilities include writing user stories, performing detailed requirements engineering, leading impact assessments, managing stakeholder relationships, and mentoring junior BAs. The ideal candidate possesses proven experience as a Senior BA in complex environments, particularly within payments, retail, or wholesale domains, along with strong technical understanding of APIs and experience with legacy system integration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior BA in complex environments, ideally within payments, retail or wholesale domains
  • Strong technical understanding of APIs – able to confidently engage with engineering and architecture teams, with a solid grasp of how APIs function (e.g., POST, PUT, DELETE methods)
  • Skilled in writing effective user stories , managing backlogs and using JIRA and Confluence
  • Adept in requirements engineering – analysing, validating and translating business needs into clear deliverables
  • Comfortable picking up a project mid-flight and working independently to drive it forward
  • Experience with legacy system integration , ideally including Workday Finance or similar ERP platforms
  • Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence – able to hold your own in challenging stakeholder environments

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the analysis across a technical payments project – facilitating the integration of new payment providers using APIs across both digital and in-branch environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams – including Engineering, Architecture, Delivery, QA and business teams – to elicit, challenge and refine requirements
  • Write clear, solution-agnostic user stories in Confluence and JIRA that development and QA teams can act on
  • Perform detailed requirements engineering – from stakeholder interviews through to validation, breakdown and documentation
  • Lead and facilitate impact assessments and support cost-benefit analysis to help shape our change portfolio
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across the board – from Finance, Application Support, Business Experts and senior leadership – keeping everyone aligned and informed
  • Support coaching and mentoring of junior BAs across the Experience team
