Summary

Join Fluence as a Senior Sales Engineer/Sales Manager to lead new order booking for the Fluence Digital business in North America and drive sales growth through customer interaction and coordination with internal teams.

Requirements

  • Sales/Business Development/Product Management experience
  • Minimum 9 years as a senior Sales Engineer / Sales Manager with large enterprise customers, ideally in the energy or technology industry
  • Owns sales targets, formulating go-to-market strategies, and identifying the resources required for success
  • Charting sales cycles, anticipating obstacles, and managing attrition
  • Prioritizing customers at different stages of a sales funnel
  • Engaging customers with a view towards utilization and satisfaction
  • Experience working with CRM systems to support clear communication, pipeline management, and scaling of sales achievement
  • Ability to understand SCADA, basic programming languages and IOT a plus
  • Familiarity with connecting and optimizing assets within a customer business
  • Ability to convey complex matters in simple business-friendly terms
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in client-facing contexts - must be highly comfortable working with people across several organizations
  • Experience in pre-sales or sales role, working collaboratively with Sales Teams, understanding the full sales life cycle and processes is a plus
  • Must be an independent, highly motivated self-starter, naturally pro-active with great sense of initiative
  • Experiencing managing across functional domains
  • BS/BA in an analytical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Business, or related field) preferred, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new order booking for the Fluence Digital business in the North America region with primary focus on Nispera, Fluence Digital’s Asset Performance Management platform
  • Own relationships with key accounts active in region, including investor-owned utilities, retailers, and independent power producers, from initial contacts through ongoing utilization of our products
  • Manage proposals and lead overall proposal activities for customers' Requests for Proposal. Lead internal teams in understanding the customer RFP requirements, the competition, and responsible and leading the sales strategy to close and win these opportunities
  • Track customers’ readiness to engage Fluence Digital; maintain accurate records in Fluence Digital’s customer relationship management system
  • Work closely and collaboratively with Product Managers and Marketing to create and maintain sales collateral (e.g., presentations, proposals, sell sheets, training, RFP and other tender documents, etc.) that resonate with our customer and prospects
  • Track maturation of Fluence Digital’s competitive environment to inform Fluence Digital positioning, product offering, and go-to-market strategies
  • Summarize customer’s technical perspective to assist Sales, Marketing, Product and Technology to understand the voice of the customer, the users’ perspectives, and the problems they seek to solve
