Join Freenome, a high-growth biotech company, as a Senior Clinical Informaticist to contribute to the Real World Data (RWD) team. You will manage the cohort definition user interface, create and maintain content, support data ingestion and preparation, and ensure clinical data validity. This remote role requires expertise in clinical informatics, EHR/claims data, RWD application to clinical research, and relevant ontologies and technologies. Requirements
- At least four years of experience in clinical informatics, including experience with: EHR and claims data
- Applying RWD to clinical research, preferably for diagnostic, medical device, or therapeutic product development healthcare interoperability standards and regulatory submission models (HL7, FHIR, CDM, OMOP) and ETL techniques
- RWD across multiple disease areas, Oncology experience strongly preferred
- PharmD,MD, NP, RN, or closely related degree
- Deep knowledge of ontologies commonly used by health systems and payers, including, ICD-O-3, ICD-10, HCPCS, CPT, LOINC, RxNorm
- Applied technical experience with SQL, ETL development, database structures, data modeling, hosted solutions
- An entrepreneurial and solutions-oriented mentality, you are comfortable with ambiguity, are self-directed, and have outstanding problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Manage the cohort definition user interface, including controlling user access and permissions, and instructing end users on appropriate application of content
- Create and maintain all content within cohort definition UI
- Facilitate updating vocabularies used to support the semantic mapping process and in the research platform, performing impact analyses when necessary
- Support execution of RWD ingests (in collaboration with Engineering) and subsequent data preparation efforts, including data mapping, cleaning, and structuring, to create “regulatory-grade” research-ready datasets
- Execute a framework for assessing and ensuring the clinical validity of data throughout the pipeline
- Serve as an internal subject matter expert on interoperability and common data model standards and terminologies (ex. ICD, CPT, HCPCS, NDC, GPIs, SNOMED, etc.)
- Develop and maintain templates and tools to enable efficient data processing and interpretation
- Support operation of an ontology/terminology management system
- Work in the details for ongoing clean-up and enrichment to drive continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with terminology browsers and authoring tools; OHDSI tools/Usagi preferred
- Experience with big data management solutions and cloud platforms; GCP preferred
- Experience working with an agile-based team
