Requirements

• 5+ years as a Cloud Database Engineer
• Proven experience as a Cloud Database Engineer with a focus on multi-region deployments
• In-depth knowledge of MySQL, AWS Aurora, and DocumentDB
• Expertise in designing and managing databases for high availability and fault tolerance
• Strong understanding of cloud-native database technologies and best practices
• Familiarity with security measures and compliance standards for multi-region cloud deployments
• Proficient in database performance tuning and optimization
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud-based database solutions with a focus on multi-region deployments
• Ensure high availability and fault tolerance across diverse geographical locations
• Administer and optimize MySQL, AWS Aurora, and DocumentDB databases for performance and scalability
• Implement best practices for data modeling and indexing
• Configure and maintain databases across multiple cloud regions deployed both using managed services and self-hosted within Kubernetes
• Implement and manage replication, failover, and disaster recovery strategies
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in multi-region database deployments
• Optimize queries and data retrieval processes for efficiency
• Implement robust security measures for databases in accordance with industry standards
• Monitor and enforce compliance with security policies across multi-region deployments
• Develop and implement effective backup and recovery strategies for multi-region databases
• Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery processes to ensure reliability
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in cloud-native database technologies, including advancements in AWS services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand application requirements and optimize multi-region database configurations
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture, configurations, and procedures
