Summary
Join Contrast Security's Cloud Engineering team and contribute to the availability, reliability, and scalability of our production services. You will be intensely hands-on with our cloud-based infrastructure, working with the engineering team to design and build automated, elastic, and reliable systems. This role requires expertise in AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and related technologies. You will collaborate cross-functionally, debug production issues, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor team members. We seek a problem-solver with 8+ years in technology, including at least three in a relevant cloud role, who is passionate about automation and making the internet a safer place. Requirements
- Have 8+ years of experience in technology, with at least three years in a Cloud Engineer, DevOps, or SRE role
- Possess strong communication skills
- Be a problem solver who values simple solutions to complex challenges
- Understand the big picture and how code interacts with internal and external systems and services
Responsibilities
- Harness all AWS capabilities to create scalable environments and maintain efficient AWS accounts
- Author Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, and Helm charts
- Demonstrate a love of observability (ideally Datadog)
- Exhibit familiarity with Linux containers and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes
- Understand HTTP, REST, networking concepts, and global load-balancing
- Demonstrate a passion for automation to reduce daily toil
- Work cross-functionally within a service team and be a core contributor to every significant engineering solution delivered
- Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack
- Participate in on-call rotations
- Possess a solid understanding of system design, including operational trade-offs
- Lead and mentor team members
- Utilize solid programming and troubleshooting skills, potentially working with Java, Go, Python, and NodeJS
Preferred Qualifications
- Have a background or interest in working with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, CloudFormation, and Restful API development
- Have a passion for tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and Helm
- Approach problems from a product perspective, considering user interaction
