Requirements
- Proven experience in conducting complex cloud projects, from conception to productive deployment
- Solid expertise in the design, provisioning, and operation of automated, secure, and stable cloud infrastructures (AWS or Azure)
- Strong customer focus and willingness to take on tasks such as provisioning, maintenance, and further development of cloud-based systems
- Ability to participate in technical discussions at various levels, from architectural decisions to concrete implementation
- Application of automation-oriented principles within agile project methods
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as confident operation in German-speaking customer environments
- Solid experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS and/or Azure, in both IaaS and PaaS areas
- Practical experience in developing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code approaches, ideally with: Terraform, Ansible, Python, YAML, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes
- Knowledge of programming and scripting (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript) and experience in development or DevOps teams
- Familiarity with common cloud security concepts (IAM, KMS, Key Vaults, role-based access control, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud solutions in close collaboration with engineering and architecture teams
- Perform cloud engineering tasks within agile sprints using established best practices and templates
- Build new cloud environments for customers using native AWS or Azure services
- Utilize fundamental architecture concepts and reusable components to build automated infrastructure, CI/CD processes, and supporting toolsets
- Present technical solutions to diverse audiences, from developers and analysts to executives
- Advise customer teams and decision-makers on technology options, best practices, and the value of cloud-native approaches
- Act as the voice of Rackspace in the customer project, responsible for quality, technical transparency, and successful implementation
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideally, experience in enterprise-scale environments with direct customer contact
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts and act as a trusted advisor to customers
