Summary

Join Great Minds as their Manager, Partnerships/Commercial Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel. This strategic legal role will involve driving high-impact partnerships and transactions to support growth and innovation. You will draft, negotiate, and advise on various agreements, ensuring the company's interests are protected. The position requires leading negotiations for strategic partnerships, developing efficient contracting processes, and advising on intellectual property considerations. You will support go-to-market initiatives and stay updated on legal developments. This is a full-time position with remote options, based in the DC Metro Area, Atlanta, or remotely.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial transactions, preferably in-house or at a law firm, with a focus on sales contracts, partnerships, and IP
  • 1+ years of management experience
  • Familiarity or experience in Education or Education Technology
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to drive favorable outcomes in complex deal structures
  • Deep understanding of intellectual property principles and their application in commercial agreements
  • Business-minded approach with the ability to balance risk mitigation with growth objectives
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for business stakeholders
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including sales contracts, strategic partnerships, and licensing agreements
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal counsel to sales, partnerships, marketing, and product teams on contract structures, risk assessment, and deal execution
  • Lead negotiations for strategic partnerships with enterprise customers
  • Develop and implement efficient contracting processes to support scalable growth while mitigating risk
  • Advise on intellectual property considerations in transactions, including licensing, ownership rights, and content collaborations
  • Support go-to-market initiatives by ensuring that legal frameworks align with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Stay ahead of legal developments in commercial, technology, and IP law, providing proactive guidance to leadership
