Summary

Join Airbnb's Legal Department as a Senior Counsel, Litigation, and become a strategic leader handling complex litigation and pre-litigation matters across various jurisdictions. You will proactively resolve disputes, provide risk mitigation advice, and collaborate with internal and external teams to solve complex problems. This role requires a J.D. from an accredited law school, 8+ years of significant litigation experience, and a license to practice law in at least one U.S. state. Preferred qualifications include experience in commercial tort, regulatory, and class action disputes. Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and strong academic credentials
  • Licensed attorney with 8+ years of significant litigation experience
  • Licensed attorney in good standing of the bar of at least one U.S. state or territory
  • Demonstrated record of successfully managing significant aspects of complex legal or regulatory matters
  • Highly motivated, efficient, and organized
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment, both collaborating as part of a team and working independently
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to advocate for a position while maintaining an open-minded approach
  • Interest in expanding the scope of your practice, attention to details, and comfort with ambiguity

Responsibilities

  • Be an active, strategic leader handling a diverse range of complex litigation and pre-litigation matters in numerous jurisdictions
  • Proactively address and resolve potential disputes while providing risk mitigation advice to business clients and supporting business objectives
  • Collaborate with compliance personnel, public policy experts, and other attorneys inside and outside Airbnb to help solve complex problems
  • Review and analyze legal risks for Airbnb, including on development of products and services
  • Devise processes and procedures to help support a rapidly growing, global business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Commercial tort, regulatory, tax controversy, class action dispute, and trial experience
  • Experience preparing senior corporate leaders for deposition and trial
  • Experience at or representing technology companies
  • Licensed attorney in good standing of the California bar
  • San Francisco Bay Area
  • Passion for travel and home sharing and deep appreciation for the Airbnb community
  • Good sense of humor, disdain for drama, and desire to get things done
  • Willingness to travel up to several times per quarter depending on case needs
