Senior Data Analyst

Summary

Job Description: Remote Senior/Staff Data Analyst position at a hospitality industry client of RYZ Labs. Role involves using data sources to develop analytics solutions, working with the Operations team, and sitting on the central Data Analytics team. Requires 4+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) of experience in an analytics role, excellent communication skills, strong mathematical and analytical skills, advanced SQL proficiency, data visualization expertise, experiment design and statistical test analysis experience, and a plus for Python/R skills.

Requirements

• 4+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Staff) of experience in an analytics role at a public or high-growth start-up
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Results-oriented individual with the ability to identify dependencies, and leverage multiple sources of information at once
• Adept at working cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders to ensure goals are met
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills required, including advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Advanced skills in SQL with the ability to write complex and optimized queries, including window functions and CTEs
• Solid grasp of data visualization best practices and experience with building reports in Tableau or a comparable tool
• Experience with experiment design and statistical test analysis

Responsibilities

• Measure, track, and analyze operations efficiency, identify trends, work with stakeholders to understand root causes, and translate learnings into actionable insights
• Build, own, and maintain key performance metrics and dashboards and present insights to business partners and executive leadership
• Design, measure, and communicate results from experiments to enable accelerated decision-making about potential process and technology improvements
• Lead the sprint-planning process with business stakeholders to drive alignment on project prioritization and progress
• Work closely with other data partners (eg. Data PMs, BI, and Data Engineers, etc.) to scale our client’s data ecosystem and enable cross-functional projects
• Support the development of new data visualization and continuous improvement of internal reporting to drive visibility into performance
• Use advanced analytical techniques to improve ways of working – from refactoring core data models to making recommendations to Operations teams about ways to increase operating efficiency and improve the guest experience
• Advise leadership on potential opportunities or hazards that affect the business' ability to meet strategic goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Python and/or R is a big plus
• Intellectually curious and excited to learn
• Experience in Travel/Hospitality is a plus but not required
