Summary

This role requires 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working with cloud-based infrastructure and distributed systems, strong Python and SQL skills, and a solid understanding of modern data stack components. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, working on cloud-based infrastructure and distributed systems
  • Strong Python and SQL skills; experience with orchestration tools like Airflow or Dagster is a big plus
  • Solid understanding of modern data stack components (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Fivetran, Kafka, etc.)
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and real-time data processing (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar)
  • Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, testing frameworks for data, and production-ready environments
  • A strong problem-solver with a product mindset — you care about enabling internal users and building clean, reliable systems
  • Excellent collaboration skills — you know how to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, agile setup

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable data pipelines (batch and real-time) that support our internal analytics and data products
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to understand data needs and deliver reliable datasets and models
  • Develop and optimize our data lake and warehouse infrastructure (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, or similar)
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and security, especially in a high-growth, high-volume SaaS environment
  • Build tools to enable self-service analytics and empower Apaleo teams and customers to make data-driven decisions
  • Support experimentation and reporting pipelines across multiple departments (marketing attribution, product usage, financial metrics, etc.)
  • Continuously improve performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability of our data stack
  • Help shape and evolve data governance practices, documentation, and architecture decisions

Preferred Qualifications

Fluent in English; German is a nice bonus but not required
