Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or demonstrated ability in a related field is required
- Expertise in data management using structured (SQL) and unstructured (NoSQL) approaches, with Redshift experience as a plus
- Proficiency in data visualization principles, especially with PowerBI and Tableau
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira
- Knowledge of software development life cycles and practices, including git and cloud-native technologies like S3, EMR (Spark), Lambda, Kinesis, Firehose, Glue, and Terraform
- Programming expertise in Python and/or Scala, with an understanding of infrastructure as code principles
- Experience in data pipeline design, database modeling for analytical datasets or feature stores, and cloud software monitoring/alerting
- Familiarity with client/server concepts, including SFTP, APIs, and web scraping, and supporting data visualization users (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) or analytics/data science teams
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to professional growth in data engineering and architecture
- Proven ability to design enterprise-scale solutions with long-term business impact
- Leadership capabilities, including coaching, mentoring, and developing peers
- Excellent time management and independent problem-solving skills, with a self-motivated and driven work ethic
- Ambitious, collaborative team player with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or demonstrated equivalent ability)
- 1-5 years of experience in data engineering or a technical role within data environments
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data stores that support enterprise data science, analytics, and operations
- Identify, track, and analyze the performance of data layer services, implementing solutions and improvements to enhance stability, efficiency, and performance
- Collaborate with your peers across the Research and Technology organization
- Ability to guide, coach, and mentor engineers, BI Developers, and analysts
Preferred Qualifications
Redshift experience is a plus
