Senior Data Engineer

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Data Platforms Engineering with a strong understanding of data principles
• Expertise in Spark, Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Protocol Buffers, and cloud storage
• Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, high-performance data systems and manage production data pipelines
• Experience with streaming data architectures, real-time systems, and large-scale data management
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure) and deploying large-scale data solutions
• Knowledge of e-commerce data challenges and how data drives innovation
• Insight into the retail industry and its data engineering challenges

Responsibilities

• Design and develop data systems and pipelines to manage and deliver high-quality data across platforms, supporting product growth
• Create and implement data management strategies aligned with business objectives to enable AI and machine learning initiatives
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize data-driven features
• Establish and maintain best practices for data systems and workflows to promote operational excellence and innovation
• Ensure reliable production data pipelines, minimizing downtime and implementing recovery protocols

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience preferably with GoLang(Python is an option as well)
• Contributions to open-source data engineering projects are a plus
