Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions Slovakia as a Senior Data Engineer and contribute to the development, construction, testing, and maintenance of database and large-scale processing systems. Collaborate with Data and Analytics teams to gather technical requirements for exceptional data governance. Analyze complex data elements and systems, design and build database structures, and contribute to capacity planning. Manage the lifecycle of database tools and engage in data munging, manipulation, cleansing, and blending. Solve business problems using data, develop scalable data processing platforms, and oversee junior data engineers. This role requires expertise in various data technologies and strong analytical and communication skills.

Requirements

• Have education of Information technologies –– Master’s degree
• Have experiences with ICT Analysis, Architecture & Design - 5 years
• Have experiences with Cloud solutions , preferably GCP (orAzure, or AWS) in range of data processing - Expert
• Machine learning - Advanced
• Have experiences with Data Analytics – visualization - Expert
• Have experiences with Big Data (e.g. MapReduce, Hive, HDFS, YARN, HBase, Oozie) - Expert
• Have experiences with Data processing methods (Kafka, Spark) - Advanced
• Have experiences with Data streaming, Data warehousing -Expert
• Have experiences with SQL and NoSQL Databases - Advanced
• Have experiences with programming, scripting - Advanced
• Have Data mining techniques - Advanced
• Have analytical thinking, Team management, cross-functional Collaboration, strategic thinking and ability to Innovate, Effective Communication and Stress Tolerance
• Speak English - Advanced (C1) and German advantage - Intermediate (B1)

Responsibilities

• Analyses complex data elements and systems, data flow, dependencies, and relationships in order to contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models
• Designs, builds, implementation and maintain the database structures to support business needs including integration of vendor database solutions into data environment
• Contributes to the development of the capacity planning function to properly identify needed hardware, software, database configuration / architecture to support application / business needs
• Manages the life cycle of multiple database tools by enabling smooth upgrades and/or installation and support of new capabilities
• Data munging, manipulation, cleansing and blending from multiple data sources and exposure to various data types and storage paradigms including data mining
• Works with data to solve business problems and build and maintain the infrastructure to answer questions with data
• Develops and manages scalable data processing platforms used for exploratory data analysis and real-time analytics
• Oversees activities of the junior data engineers, ensuring proper execution of their duties and alignment with business vision and objectives

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with usage of ML tools e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch
• Knowledge of programing languages used in the field of ML (e.g. Python, R)
• Knowledge of distributed filesystems
