Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior Data Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This remote position is located in Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, or Costa Rica. The role requires extensive software development experience, specifically with PySpark, Python, and Data Bricks or Synapse Workspaces. A bachelor's degree in a related field is also required. The ideal candidate will possess advanced English skills and experience with Azure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• 5 years average experience in the following areas (MUST): PySpark Data Engineer
• Python Data Engineer
• Data Bricks and/or Synapse Workspaces/Analytics (Ideally Synapse Workspaces/Analytics)

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows to process and transform large datasets efficiently
• Implement data validation, monitoring, and error-handling mechanisms to ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to ensure the availability of clean and well-structured data

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic to medium knowledge: T-SQL
• Data vault and Star schema design methodology
• Azure (especially anyone with Synapse Dedicated / Serverless pools or Parallel Data Warehouse)
