Summary
Join ghSMART, a leading leadership advisory firm, as a Senior Data Engineer with a focus on expanding into Data Science. Long-term goals involve acting as the database custodian, supporting research publications, and assisting in AI model training. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in Python, SQL, and Azure Databricks. ghSMART offers a flexible, remote work environment, competitive compensation including a base salary of $125,000-$135,000, performance bonuses, 401(k) plan, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or related roles
- Proficiency in Python, specifically the pandas library
- Proficiency in SQL, Azure Databricks, ETLs & Excel
- Source control & experience working with or writing CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or equivalent (i.e GitLab CI)
Responsibilities
- Help with digitization of existing assets by parsing semi-structured data & transforming it
- Work closely with an existing team of engineers and developers to deliver against deadlines
- Collaborate & maintain strong relationships with leadership to understand needs, scope projects, and deliver relevant data insights
- Participate in data privacy training and rigorously adhere to data privacy and security guidelines to ensure the highest standards of care in handling sensitive data
- Act as the custodian and steward of the ghSMART Research Database
- Support ghSMART’s research publications by providing data-driven insights and analysis
- Assist in training AI models on sanitized ghSMART data to enable advanced analysis and insights
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Pulumi or equivalent (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience processing, securing, and managing PII in cloud environments, adhering to compliance standards and best practices
- Familiarity with visualization tools like Power BI
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong project management capabilities
- A proactive, entrepreneurial spirit combined with the discipline to establish and follow a structured data analysis approach
