Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join Healthie as a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and scaling of data migration and integration pipelines. You will own the architecture and implementation of core ETL workflows, working closely with engineering and customer success teams. This role is crucial for improving customer onboarding speed, reducing manual effort, and expanding Healthie's ability to support its growing customer base. The position is full-time and remote, requiring U.S. location and work authorization. The salary range is $160,000-$180,000 per year, plus annual company bonus and benefits. You will build reusable, automated tools that scale with the business, prioritizing data quality, observability, and compliance.

Requirements

• Have 6+ years of engineering experience, with strong backend skills in Ruby or a similar language
• Be proficient in SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
• Have built production-grade, fault-tolerant ETL pipelines at scale
• Be skilled at transforming messy, inconsistent data into clean, performant systems
• Think beyond one-off scripts — build reusable, automated tools that scale with the business
• Prioritize data quality, observability, and compliance, and build systems that reflect those standards
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• Be located in the U.S. and have U.S. work authorization

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and scaling of our data migration and integration pipelines
• Own the architecture and implementation of core ETL workflows that ingest, transform, and validate complex healthcare data from other systems
• Work closely across engineering and customer success teams to automate and streamline these processes, ensuring data quality, scalability, and compliance
• Improve customer onboarding speed, reducing manual effort, and expanding Healthie’s ability to empower our diverse and growing customer base
