Senior Data Engineer

Summary

Join Janus Health as a Senior Data Engineer and contribute to transforming the healthcare industry. You will be responsible for ingesting, validating, and storing healthcare data, designing and maintaining data pipelines using Databricks and PostgreSQL on AWS, and ensuring data quality. This role requires strong data engineering expertise, leadership skills, and experience with the specified technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and experience with Databricks and PostgreSQL in an AWS environment. Domestic travel is required. Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong expertise in Databricks, PostgreSQL, and AWS
• Experience with data quality validation and data governance
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Flexibility and comfort working in a dynamic and constantly changing environment of a startup

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful inbounding, validation, and storage of healthcare data
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks and PostgreSQL on AWS
• Implement and enforce data quality standards and best practices
• Support performance and scalability initiatives for company databases
• Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance and reliability
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our data infrastructure remains cutting-edge

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant work experience
• Understanding of techniques for optimizing Spark jobs, including partitioning, caching, and efficient use of resources
• Understanding of Spark’s execution model and how to troubleshoot performance issues as well as PySpark notebook ETL processes
• DBA experience with Aurora PostgreSQL
• Engineering experience working with a healthcare revenue cycle products
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and/or equivalent work experience
