Senior Data Engineer

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a significant focus on ETL processes and database administration
• Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with database management and performance tuning, especially PostgreSQL
• 2+ years of experience with Power BI or similar data visualization platforms
• Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, and other ETL technologies
• Expertise in managing cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integrating them into existing data architectures
• Demonstrated ability in data modeling, data warehousing, and developing scalable data architectures
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies
• Skilled in Agile project management methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement in data processes and infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure data pipelines, integrating sophisticated ETL processes and tools to efficiently manage and transform data
• Architect and implement complex data models, schemas, and database solutions that underpin extensive analytics and reporting frameworks
• Manage database operations, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning to meet the demands of a dynamic business environment
• Administer database security measures, including access controls and vulnerability assessments, to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine data requirements, ensuring that database designs and data flows align with business goals
• Oversee the organization’s data infrastructure, including the maintenance and enhancement of data warehouses, databases, lakes, and integration tools
• Provide expertise in database administration, advising on best practices for data management, system optimization, and data retention policies
• Support data visualization tools like Power BI, facilitating reliable access to business-critical data insights
• Direct the delivery of strategic data initiatives, monitoring project milestones, KPIs, and deadlines, and ensuring excellence in both technical and operational fronts
