Summary
Join M3 Global Research, a division of M3, as a Senior Data Engineer and contribute to enhancing our data management team. You will design, develop, and manage sophisticated data pipelines, optimize database performance, and ensure data integrity and security. This role requires advanced expertise in Data Engineering, ETL processes, and Database Administration (DBA). The ideal candidate will demonstrate aptitude for data-driven decision-making, superior technical skills, and effective communication. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and oversee the organization’s data infrastructure. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a significant focus on ETL processes and database administration
- Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with database management and performance tuning, especially PostgreSQL
- 2+ years of experience with Power BI or similar data visualization platforms
- Strong proficiency in data engineering tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, and other ETL technologies
- Expertise in managing cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integrating them into existing data architectures
- Demonstrated ability in data modeling, data warehousing, and developing scalable data architectures
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies
- Skilled in Agile project management methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of working effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Problem-solving mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement in data processes and infrastructure
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, secure data pipelines, integrating sophisticated ETL processes and tools to efficiently manage and transform data
- Architect and implement complex data models, schemas, and database solutions that underpin extensive analytics and reporting frameworks
- Manage database operations, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance tuning to meet the demands of a dynamic business environment
- Administer database security measures, including access controls and vulnerability assessments, to protect sensitive data and comply with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine data requirements, ensuring that database designs and data flows align with business goals
- Oversee the organization’s data infrastructure, including the maintenance and enhancement of data warehouses, databases, lakes, and integration tools
- Provide expertise in database administration, advising on best practices for data management, system optimization, and data retention policies
- Support data visualization tools like Power BI, facilitating reliable access to business-critical data insights
- Direct the delivery of strategic data initiatives, monitoring project milestones, KPIs, and deadlines, and ensuring excellence in both technical and operational fronts
